L’amor che muove e sole e l’altre stelle
“The love that moves the sun and the other stars.”
It is Italian, and it is from the last chapter of The Divine Comedy by Dante Alighieri. As a matter of fact, it is the last verse.
It is therefore the final word on the subject of heaven and hell. (The ultimate reward for righteous living?)
It is appropriate then that we seize it as our mantra, the banner our side waves in an unjust war. A stupid cultural war, a bloody civil war on truth, beauty, love, nature, history and the actual agenda of any “loving god” worshiped in human history. How appropriate then that the angels are on our side of the fight for marriage equity.
